We designed the colors and finishes around the client’s love of Cambria Skye countertops.
The contractor contacted me about designing this kitchen. He was concerned that the client wanted Cambria Skye as the countertops and wanted me to meet with the client and provide feedback. When I first met with him, all he cared about was having the Cambria Skye as his countertops. Therefore, we needed to design colors and finishes around that. He loved it because it looked like water.
I picked a sea glass green painted cabinets. We installed a more neutral beveled tile backsplash so not to compete with the countertops.
The existing layout gave us a lot of opportunity to improve. The old kitchen essentially had the refrigerator sticking out on its own and there was very little cabinet space. We were able to double the cabinet storage space by making the kitchen layout U-shaped.
The client loves his kitchen! When clients see the end result and are this happy, it reminds me why I love what I do. (note – window treatments backordered!)
Now we are working on his sunroom and will be doing other rooms in the house as well.
